9 Jul 2009I have no idea what Gutsch means, but it’s the name of the hotel on the hill with a great view of Lake Lucerne and the river. Too bad it’s running out of money and now going out of business…

29 Apr 2009This is the Conservatory at the Bellagio. It’s like a giant indoor greenhouse, and it’s pretty nice. Lots of plants and flowers, though you have to wonder at the irony of having a greenhouse in the middle of the desert. o_O
This was one of those indoor shots that really benefited from a multiple exposure HDR. [...]

Aperture: f/8.0
Focal Length: 22 mm
ISO Speed: 640

Exposure: 1/1250s
Aperture: f/11.0
Focal Length: 10 mm
ISO Speed: 250

29 Mar 2009Here’s some HDR! This is the “living roof” of San Francisco’s Academy of Sciences. It’s the roof of the building, which is actually completely built of soil and other biodegradable materials. Basically, the roof grows plants and trees. We went in the middle of winter so it was pretty sparse, but I’ll bet during the [...]
