I’m not sure when it happened, but somehow I became a huge Apple fanboy in the last 4 years. Being a front end engineer means I have an appreciation for aesthetics, and Apple sure does that in spades.

I still have Windows/Ubuntu on some desktop boxes at home, but on the go? It’s all Apple!

This dish looked fantastic – unfortunately I am just not a beef guy. The meat was really flavorful, but just a bit dry for my tastes. I would definitely go back again though!

While I wouldn’t call myself an audiophile, I can certainly enjoy the benefits of high quality audio fidelity. When I’m coding, I like to put on the music and just drown everything out… it’s a feeling of immersion you rarely get to feel elsewhere.

Since I spend so much time with my music, I make sure it’s as good as I can afford. A pair of super plush and super comfortable Audio Technica ATH-AD700′s (open back), and a NuForce uDAC2 for converting the music off the computer. What can I say, I like nice things. Maybe someday I’ll pick up a pair of Grados or AKGs… but till then, I think the Audio Technicas are great bang for the buck.

A night view of Ibiza Town from the old city walls of D’alt Villa. It’s quite a view to take in, and D’alt Villa itself goes up even higher. Unfortunately the highest levels were closed for reconstruction, but on the up side that also meant less walking for us. Inside the walled cities are residences, small shops and restaurants, and lots of Euro style cafes and bars.

Move outside the city walls, and things get a bit busier, especially when it comes to nightlife!

I spent the past two weeks in Europe on vacation. My last night was in Manchester, UK, as I was flying out from there following morning. We had a great night out on the town with some friends, and when we returned to the hotel the lobby suddenly seemed like a pretty decent impromptu photo shoot location, so we went with it! It’s not often that girls get to be all dolled up, so we made the best of it despite the poor lighting.

The security guard stumbled upon us mid-shoot, and lucky for us he didn’t care. He told us to continue shooting. ^^

Pictures at the golden hour are the best – there’s always a very good chance to get ultra surrealistic photos that give an otherworldly feel. I took this photo at the Yahoo! HQ parking lot, late after work when everybody had already gone home. In retrospect, it would have been cool to get the car’s headlights on as well, though I am not sure if it would have overpowered the sky.

I’m heading to the UK for some much needed R&R starting tomorrow – I’ll try to update while I’m there (considering this blog is JUST rebooting!), but no guarantees. On the other hand, I can definitely guarantee a ton of awesome new photos when I return!

Nothing like a little sun and grass to bring out the feeling of being a little kid again. Sometimes, it’s just you and the ball and all the time in the world.

I’m going to start trying to make an effort to document a little more about my musings here. I haven’t blogged since I shut my Xanga account down years ago – but something about this can be rather therapeutic, don’t you think?

Sometimes even the factory teams can mess up! Case in point, Aston Martin. They ran a LMP out there, but I guess one of them must have broke down halfway. The whole team was literally scrambling around the car to get it back up and running!

Ferrari Red. When you see the prancing horse, you can’t help but be drawn. This was the official Ferrari Team’s trailer at the American Le Mans this past month at Laguna Seca, Monterey, CA. They staged two F458 Italias, both in classic Ferrari red.
